‘Pamilya Ko, Mahal Ko, Say No to Sigarilyo’ Campaign, as one of the ways to intensify the advocacy of Mayor Jose Enrique S. Garcia III, has included schools as one of their targets in disseminating information about the harmful effects of cigarettes in the City of Balanga (COB)

City health office representatives conducted lectures to each school in the division and required the pupils to make a letter to their parents encouraging them to stop smoking or thanking them if they don’t.

COB also conducted poster-making and letter writing contests which focus on the theme of the campaign, opened to all elementary school children.

Tenejero Elementary School participants bagged awards in the said contest. Bea Bianca Lazo and Kurt Neil Pocallan both landed on second place in letter-writing and poster - making, respectively.

“It was indeed a great experience joining this contest. Through my drawing, I can help spread the campaign of our city which is to make Balanga City smoke-free,” said Pocallan.
