City Health Office             Representatives together with     Barangay Health Workers led the roll out of Dengue School-Based Immunization at Tenejero            Elementary School last April 8.

Prior to this event, parents were cautioned on the possible mild reactions from the dengue vaccine.

The dengvaxia (dengue       vaccine) shall be given only to grade 4 public school pupils, aged 9 to 45 years, from the National     Capital Region, CALABARZON and Central Luzon.  Three doses of   vaccine shall be given at six months interval.
City health nurses told the parents, pupils and teachers that the vaccine is not the sole        solution to dengue. The        community should practice the ‘4S Campaign’ to prevent      mosquito-borne diseases. The 4S means Search & destroy mosquito breeding places, use Self-protection measures, Seek early consultation for fevers    lasting more than 2 days, and Say yes to fogging when there is an impending outbreak.
