Qualities of a Good Teacher By: Marciana E. Puzon, Tenejero E/S

When the school opens this June, have we ever thought of “what kind of a teacher I would be?”

Pupils seem to look to a teacher who is motherly, loving and caring.  A teacher should wear a smile to make her pupils that they are wanted.

Grade I and Kinder teachers should show their pupils special care so that they will not leave school.  During enrolment, these very young children would not let their yaya or mother leave them.  Most of them cry.  If we teachers will not treat them kindly for they will have independence and the feeling of security.

A good teacher should have a pleasing personality.  He must be friendly and accommodating.  He must be caring.  He must be observant to the needs of his pupils.  He must assure his pupils that they are wanted and they belong.  A little smile and a pat would make the pupils confident because they are loved and wanted.  Let us be a loving and accommodating teacher.
